The joy of free finds and saving something destined for the landfill

For a while now I’ve wanted to add a border to our beds but didn’t want to spend a lot of money.   To be honest I didn’t want to spend anything.  As a rule I try to use things I have on the property but nothing felt quite right.

Then I remembered.  An old building was being torn down in town.  Boy did I luck out.  Yep, I was able to salvage some of the brick.  A little time spent knocking off the old mortar and they were good as new.

Doesn’t it look great.  What a wonderful way to repurpose brick.  At least some of the old building was saved from the landfill.  It now has a new purpose, and life in the garden.
