All God’s Creatures

When you think of flowers what creatures come to mind?  Bees, wasps, butterflies? We have numerous pots filled with flowers outside the front door and have learned to expect bees, wasps, and butterflies.  To be honest we welcome them.  We want to attract pollinators.

What we saw that day was so unexpected and special.  You see we found a toad resting in a pot of begonias.  And something even more remarkable was about to happen.

An ant walking on the rim of the pot took a turn and stepped onto the toads nose. Look close and you’ll see him.  I don’t know why the toad didn’t eat the ant.  I’m sure it must have tickled.  Maybe he just wasn’t hungry.

But on this day two very unlikely creatures found shelter in a pot of begonias on our front porch.  All God’s creatures are welcome here.  And we are honored to provide them shelter.
